The production of carpet in Tunisia developed with the improvement and the diversification of the product which knew a true change on the level of textures (many points to m2) of technologies of treatment and production of the components (wool, silk) and esthetics (composition, reasons, range…)

The Tunisian carpets are characterized by their aspect melted, the harmony of the colors and the reasons geometrical.

Klim is a wool weaving made up of parallel plain bands of various colors it is used like wall covering or groundsheet.

Mergoum, used as groundsheet is distinguished from the klim by “reg. my” or woven reasons which decorate it
