Realisations starting from 1991 to.....
The municipality of Tunis helped 121 families with obtaining dwellings of the Immobiliére National company of Tunisia (S NR I T) and the F O P R O L O S.
Realisations starting from 1/1/1991 to 31/5/2002  

  • Rehousing and the refitting

  • Rehousing and the refitting

  • 1680 families were rehoused, they occupied 249 decayed buildings which threatened to collapse. The municipality demolished some of these buildings and restored the public monuments of historical value or architectural, it also started the construction of 362 houses: 154 houses to the medina and 208 in El Mourouj II with the profit of 362 families occupying 90 oukalas which threaten to fall.

    The municipality helped 121 families with obtaining lawns of the Immobiliére National company of Tunisia (S NR I T) and the F O P R O L O S. These families, indeed, profited from new modern lawns according to the following distribution:

    First stage (of November 1991 to June 1992):

  • 489 families which live 89 Oukalas were rehoused.
    • 387 families profited from new residences built by the municipality in the city Khaled Ibn El Walid in Douar Hicher. 4 classrooms at the basic school of this city were also built whose cost rises with 4,380,000 dinars.
    • 92 families were rehoused by (SNIT) and (FOPROLOS).
    • 10 families secured loans of the municipality to complete the construction of their houses.

    Second phase (1994 and 1995):

    • 416 families were rehoused within the framework of the Oukalas project during the year 1994 according to the following distribution:
    402 families profited from new residences in the district El Hrairia. Four classrooms were built at the basic school of this city. The Cost rose with 4 283,500 dinars.
    •14 families were rehoused by (SNIT). The municipality refitted the stadium of the city as well as the spaces intended for the children. Green zones were create too.
    •The other third of the inhabitants has average revenues (between 250 and 400 dinars per month).


    Third phase (of 1996 to 31 mayo 2002) :

    775 families were rehoused as follows:
    • 604 families profited from new residences built by the municipality in the city July 25th of the district Sidi H' ssine of a cost of 7,472,000 dinars.
    • 52 families profited from new residences built by the municipality in the higher city El Mechtel with El Agba of the Hrairia district of a cost of 656,500 dinars.
    • 114 families profited from new residences built with old the medina in the districts from the Medina and Bab Souika of a cost of 2,668,516 dinars.
    • 5 families profited from the assistance of the municipality for the acquisition of new residences from (SNIT).

    The municipality carried out the following conveniences in the city July 25th in Sidi H' ssine :
    The construction of a new school of a cost of 187,666 dinars.
    The construction of a municipal market of a cost of 52,328 dinars.
    The creation of a national police station.
    The refitting and the equipment of the adventure playgrounds for children.
    The refitting of the stadium of the city.
    The creation of green zones.
    The attribution of a batch of ground to the ministry for Health for the construction of a medical center.
    The attribution of a batch of ground to the ministry for the social Affairs in the same city. The attribution of a batch of ground to the secretariat of State to the Environment and the refitting of the territory for the construction of a pumping station of waste water.

  • The rehabilitation, restoration and maintenance

  • The municipality completed work of restoration via the association of safeguard of the Medina and the Agency of Rehabilitation and Restoration-Urban of overall costs of 2.8 million dinars what made it possible to restore:

    15 Oukalas which is with the property of the municipality.
    • 6 buildings (state-owned property).
    • 8 buildings (private property).


    At the end of work of rehabilitation, the inhabitants of two buildings regained their initial residences after being lodged temporarily in buildings belonging to the municipality or of the buildings of hiring of the private ones.

    The public buildings and the historic buildings were assigned to sociocultural needs. Some are used as seats of associations and organizations.

    Attribution of the real loans to the private ones :
    The municipality granted loans for families in order to help them to complete the construction of their houses, it allotted real loans by the means of the Bank of the Habitat to 59 owners of private buildings. In addition, and within the framework of the third stage of the project of Oukalas, the municipal commission of the loans approved:
    • 368 loan applications of an global amount of 8,295,600 dinars for the restoration of 683 buildings for 580 families with an interest rate of refundable 5% in 15 years in addition to the necessary technical assistance ensured by the Association of safeguard of the Medina which carries out the technical studies of the loan, the follow-up of work and legal aid through municipal services in all that relates to the attribution of the credit.
    • The granting of the loans of an amount of 4,512,400 dinars to the 232 recipients. The amount of the sections of the loans spent with the owners of the private buildings reached 5.8 million dinars until May 31st, 2002. In parallel, the association of safeguard of the Medina started work of restoration of 22 buildings of overall costs of 1.8 million dinars distributed on the following building sites:
    • 12 buildings municipal property whose cost rises with 1,119,229 dinars.
    • 10 buildings private property of a cost of 751,246 dinars.


    Work of regeneration :
    The Agency of restoration and urban innovation carried out work of regeneration of two buildings state-owned property and a third private property, of a cost of 855,749 dinars. Attribution of real loans to private for the restoration of their buildings: 65 properties are completing the remainder of the sections of the loan of a value of 1,857 MANDELEVIUM including: 40 recipients received a section or more of the loans which theirs are allotted. The remainder accounts for 1,209 MANDELEVIUM.
