This residence goes back to the XIX ème century, since 1984, it became an art gallery, “which combines the old style of Arab architecture to the modern spirit”.

To be distinguished from other artistic spaces, the gallery of the Medina has fixed foritself the objectives of introducing famous painters remaining until then unknown in Tunisia, and to encourage the exposures of young talents of which some were preceded and recognized as well in Tunisia as abroad and also to organize topic's expositions .

It is the fruit of a new and successful architectural party which adapts traditional architecture to the current hygienist, proposing the sunning and the luminosity, thanks to a raqba which ensures the lighting of the courses in the floors and to the broad openings closed by moucharabieh and opened on outside.
