    الإستقبال : Zaouïas  As-Saïda Al-Manoubiya

Zaouias of the  Medina
As-Saïda Al-Manoubiya

Adress : Galile Street (Superior Montfleury )
District : Sidi Al Bechir

In his book Famous Tunisian Women H. H. Abdelwahab indicates that the zaouia is located in an area previously called Morkadh Riadh Sooud (present-day Montfleury Supérieur). Saida Aicha al-Manoubiya is a disciple of Sidi Abi al-Hassan ach-Chadhouli, founder of a mystic brotherhood called Tariqa Chadhouliya. She died in December 1266 (665 H) at the age of 76 and was buried in a cemetery that existed in al-Gorjani (where there is today a public park and a sports complex). The zaouia, made up of a courtyard, a domed mausoleum and spaces for adepts and visitors, looks out on the salt-flat of es-Sijoumi and the surrounding countryside on the west and used to have on the eastern side a panoramic view of Tunis now blocked by new constructions. The Tariqa ritual is held in the zaouia every Monday in the late afternoon.
