The municipal Theater
The municipal theater “candy box resplendy”, as of its unveiling on November 20th, 1902, cleared the way with artistic creation: symphonic opera, ballet, concerts, dramatic art…

On the scene of this theater, multiple parts were majestically represented by the large actors of the landscapes theatrical Tunisian, Arab and international.
What put the capable Tunisians to discover the schools of the theater and works of the dramatic literature.

 

With the reformer Aly BEN AYED, director of the municipal troop of theater during the Fifties and Sixties, theatrical creation was enriched owing to the translation and interpretation by the masterpieces by the dramatic art by the large playwrights (pug - Shakespeare…).
Today, the municipal theater celebrates its centenary, illuminant its scene by variable programming (plays, musical productions, exposures, festivals…).

The Theater of the town of Tunis, superb architecture style Art nouveau, conceived by a French architect called Resplendy.On called it the Resplendy candy box. It was inaugurated on November 20th, 1902 with an opera of Jules Massent” Manon “.

After its restoration and with re-entry 2002/2003 the theater found its gloss and its splendor of yesteryear.
