The musical troop of the town of Tunis was created in 1954 by the famous musician Salah Mahdi. It charged, in 1955, its disciple Mohamed Saada to direct it. After about fifteen years following one short period under the direction of Mohamed Abid, the troop reconsiders the place under name “the musical troop of the town of Tunis”.
Answering the historical requirement to develop the cultural heritage of the town of Tunis on the one hand and to anchor the project of animation of the city, on the other hand, the troop lines up again under the standard of the dynamization of the musical landscape through many spectacles having sublime art like subject.
For some time, Naoufel Ben Issa, a doctor in music and teaching at the Institute of higher learning of the music of Tunis took its direction to recreate musical works and to promote the Tunisian “tareb”.
Our famous troop is composed of teachers, graduates and students of the Higher institute of music of Tunis and the Institute of Rachidia.
As the town hall of Tunis wants it, the troop will be the troop of the new century and the future, of the Tunisian and Mediterranean music, a troop which takes care on the inspiring tareb giving of creations like “fi rihab essaltana”.
