The Association of the Arab orchestra of the town of Tunis began its activities at the end of the month from April 1982 timidly as a aTél.ier related to the arts center of the town of Tunis. Fruit of the enthusiasm of a group of experts of original Arab music, convinced of the importance of our inheritance and its creative and civilisationnelle value, the aTél.ier becomes an autonomous religious organization working to achieve its goals by carrying out a set of activities for the happiness of the amateurs of the malouf, the mouachahat and the adouars as well as compositions of the tenors of the music of the East and the Maghreb.
The Arab orchestra of the town of Tunis works with the promotion of the Arab music through the framing of the talents on the level of the compositions and the texts, the music group by the means of the conferences and the organization of practical courses in music as well as the co-operation with the various partners in Tunisia and abroad, the exchange of the experiments and the presentation of spectacles.
This religious organization like a navvy works to develop the musical inheritance Arab - Tunisian and Eastern - to enrich it and to develop it while preserving its original spirit, its special seal and while contributing to raise its level. Association also works to train the young people, to raise their levels and to educate them musicalement.
Accordingly, Association cooperated with the cultural and associative organizations of which in particular Inns of the young people and the municipality of Tunis which took part considerably in the stability of association and this, through its equipment of its current seat.
