Dar Ben Abdallah
Address: 3, Dead end Ben Abdallah Tunis

This palate, probably of the 18th century, was successively the property of Haj Mohamed B. Ali Al Bradaï Al Kosantini towards 1211/1796, then that of Slimane B. Abdallah Al Hanafi, Kahia of Oujaq (officer or Spaïhi chief) in 1216/1801. This last gave to the building a great ostentation at the time of its weddings with the princess, girl of the sovereign Hamouda Pasha Al Husseïni (1196/1782 - 1229/1813).
It was acquired thereafter by the Sheik Mohamed Tahar B. Salah B. Abdallah, notable Tisserand which lived it up to 1317/1899, date after which its successors yielded it to the sior Aublet who it habitat up to 1323/1905. In 1941, the room returned to the old Management of the State education and Beautiful arts which assigned it to the Office of Tunisian Arts. In 1964, it became the Center of Arts and Popular Traditions. Elements
architectural of this rich person remains: patio, galleries at the ground floor and the stage, columns, capitals, parts decorated, of stucco (naqch hadida), ceramics, as well as the functional distribution of the buildings and dependences, make of this complex, a typical example of the architecture of the time.
The museum which it shelters and which contains in its showrooms of many traditional elements, is a faithful witness of the daily life of a family of the Medina.
