Space : the theatrical production company “the Star of North”, created on February 29th, 1996, sits at the avenue Farhat Hached N° 41 -1000 - Tunis.
Thanks to the continuation of its work on the Tunisian and/or universal contemporary writing, many plays were born and knew a certain reputation. Presentation of space the surface of the theater of Star of North measures 700 m2.

The theater of the North’s Star is composed of :

The multi-field big room, of a surface of 400 m2, having place for 500 spectators sitted and more than 800 spectators upright.
The remainder of space (in the course of construction) i.e. 300 m2 + 100 m2 on the first floor distributed as follows:
Hall of reception of the spectators.
Library specialized in spectacular arts.
Hall of the artists.
5 rooms.
Technical room (light and its).
Rooms for the instruments and the equipment.
Two administrative offices.

This restoration was carried out by means of a self-financing

Library
The theater of The North’s Star puts at the disposal of its public of the hundreds of works of art to on the spot consult 10:00 at midnight, it is possible also to sail on Internet against 2 dinars the hour, there is also average to handle a computer to complete work of page layout on a purely free basis.

Activities
Dice its unveiling and until December 31st, 2001, the theater the North's Star knew a notable animation consisting of the organization of 971 cultural events i.e. a cultural event each day.

During this period, the theater of Star of North achieved the following goals:

To create 25 stations of employment.
To invite 4 Tunisian professional theatrical groups to represent their theatrical works.
To found a secretariat of Tunisian playwrights and to grant a premium of writing for 6 months.
To offer to tens of musicians, young poets and playwrights the possibility of representing their works in front of the public and of being integrated in the professional life.
To take part in a real way and activates in the cultural activity of the capital.
To organize single cultural events in their Tél.les kinds:
26 hours of music not - stop (June 2000).
24 hours of reading not - stop (October 2000).
24 hours of theater not - stop (March 2001).
56 hours of music not - stop (June 2001).
24 hours of reading not - stop (October 2001).

To reinvest the incomes and to create stations of employment in order to contribute to the economic dynamization of the country.
To produce 5 theatrical works:
The play “the profanation” (February 2000).
Chronic play the “of the whole days, the whole nights” (May 2000).
The play “the tree wizard” (September 2000).
The play “the meeting” (December 2000).
The play “the angels do not answer any more” (March 2001).

Artistic project
being faithful to the artistic project, started by the play “Mom I am afraid”, which aims the assistance of the graduates of the Institute of higher learning of the Theatrical art at being integrated in the professional theater world, the theater of Star of North was interested in the awakening of the memory vis-a-vis violence.
